Long Road From Dumaguete to America, Pt. 2

Marilyn and I will be filing her fiancee visa petition in the next few weeks. We have both become quite anxious as the last few loose ends are tied up. The next phase of this process will involve lots of patience and lots of prayer as the U.S. government literally decides our future.

For Marilyn, the thought of leaving Dumaguete is sad, exciting and frightening all at once. It helps that her sister recently came to the U.S. and is now in West Virginia. She also has some good friends from Dumaguete who will be in the U.S. shortly. Still, as the popular movie declares, "there's no place like home".

As we celebrate Christmas this year, we are thankful for the blessing of our relationship, and how it has blossomed despite the enormous distance. The love and commitment Marilyn has shown me over the last two years is unlike anything I have ever experienced. This is one reason among many why a part of my heart will always live in Dumaguete, for the Gentle City gave the world this wonderful woman.

I love you, Marilyn, and I look forward to seeing you soon and spending my life with you...whether in Ohio or Dumaguete or wherever the Lord should lead us.

Hi Corey,
I know you are excited and anxious about this process. Don't worry...it's simply a matter of time. You'll worry about it all but really there is nothing to worry about when filing a fiancee visa.

More than seeing my face in the first page of this site, I have never been more proud than having a boyfriend so brilliant and talented. My friends always commented what a good writer he is.

Meeting Corey is a dream come true. He came to my life when I needed a shoulder to lean on. God is so good, He brought me a wonderful man just right in time.

Why do I love this guy? Although I often tell him he is cute, I always admire the gentle spirit I see in him. Soft spoken, godly, funny, infact silly at times, patient and self-controlled, he never fails to make me feel that I am special, not only to him but to God, the very Person who made mine and Corey's paths cross.

And ladies, if you want to know if your men genuinely show their real color, observe how they treat their parents! If they profess to be gentle and don't even have anything good to say about their mothers, the are absolutely lying. My Corey is the best son I have ever met. He has never said anything bad about his mother or father, or to women in general. While I was unconsciously contemplating to slaughter (of course I am just exaggerarting) my ex who devastated me, Corey on the other hand never said a single negative word about his past relationship. Isn't he such a superman?

In a matter of months, God willing, I will be seeing him again. I will be united with this guy whom God used so I could see the beautiful side of this journey called life.

Thanks for reading everyone!!!!

Dominique...I hope you had a great Christmas, though, as you said, it isn't really over. Is it ever truly over? Christ is the gift that keeps on giving, day after day, year after year.

LP...Thank you for stopping by again. And thank you for your nice comments. I tend to be very modest about my writings, because I know there are many others who probably write better. I just try to take what's in my heart and head and find the best words to express it all. Glad you have enjoyed the "Heavens" blog as well.

Happy New Year to all!
